The Weekly Report – Week 11

Week 11 was a tumultuous week in the Super League. Some massive trades occurred which sent shockwaves through the league. Rumors of teams defecting from the league continue to swirl and I have had a hard time managing that situation. Below is an open letter to the league.

Super League Nation,

Last week was as chaotic as a trade deadline week could get. There were a few trades that were highly questionable which has caused the league office to be flooded with complaints. In all seriousness, I put a lot of fucking effort into this league. I don’t say that because I expect anything in return, I say it because I mean it. When I started this league back in 2022, I envisioned it being a lifelong league. One that your fucking kids would eventually takeover. Over the past year, the league has gotten very top heavy. On the surface, I don’t find anything wrong with that. I started out the worst team in my 1st year and have been a top 3 team (regular season) the past two. There is definitely a lack of parity in the league now BUT the top is as tight as it has ever been. The main issue with these “Superteams” is how they got to be “Superteams”. Trades are easy in hindsight to grade and in theory, there always has to be a winner and a loser. That’s how life works. Like all things, the balance of power will shift, and the current construction of league will not last forever. I’ll never enforce or put in place a veto system. That’s not me. All I ask of you moving forward is to respect everyone in the league when it comes to trade talks. Don’t not trade with someone because you lost a trade before with that person. Don’t ignore someone. Give a person you’ve been in talks with a chance to counter. In essence, don’t be a fucking scumbag or a pussy. Following that rule alone will help this league stay fun and competitive. Alright, I’m done.

Love,

Commish

Spicy, But Not Spicy Enough

The Spicy Boys got a much-needed win over the lowly TVB. Unfortunately for them, some other teams were able to grab the median wins which has suddenly put the Spicy Boys on the outside looking in. ZYN Dynasty’s resurgence (what the fuck.. more on that later) coupled with some trades that haven’t exactly panned out have put the Spicy Boys in a brutal spot. Terry McLaurin getting clamped by Quinyonamo Bay was not a positive start for the boys and Travis Kelce’s decision to go to a white hairdresser continues to diminish his ability and aura. I still think the Boys are alive in the playoff picture and to be honest, it should actually make for a really fun end to the season as they get a shot at one of their other playoff rivals in the TCs.

Vomit, But Better Than Expected

I had this game as my vomit game of the week, and it delivered an absolute blowout. CTB had a fantastic week putting up the 4th most points in the league. Patrick Mahomes actually hit his projection (for only the 3rd time all season), while Josh Jacobs had a fucking day against the Bears. Their team is filled with boom or bust guys, and it just so happened that they got a boom this week. It doesn’t exactly matter or help them at all but it’s a nice consolation prize. TPSK had their worst week of the season and the timing of it is not shocking at all. Their trade on Wednesday was really fucking bad but it is what it is. They started a TE who was ruled out on Friday and their RB room could not be any worse. Trading away Hurts continues to haunt them and their season has completely collapsed. Lucky for them, they do own their own 1st this year so they’ll have a chance to rebuild but it has been a really bad year. Despite having the worst record in the entire league, this was their first week all season where they finished as the lowest scorer on the week.

Funkin’ Monday Night Explosion

The Funkles headed into MNF with a pretty comfortable lead and a decent shot of getting a median win. When Nico Collins took the first play of the game to the house, it appeared that the TCs had a real chance of getting a much-needed result. Unfortunately for them, the play was called back and everything flipped on its’ head from there. Newly acquired Joe Mixon had a monster performance, putting up 37+ points with over 150+ scrimmage yards and 3 TDs. It was a welcome introduction to the team, and he will play an important role for the Funkles as the season progresses. The Funkles are an interesting team and always have an opportunity to explode on any given week. Joe Burrow’s form has been a massive boost for them and hopefully he can continue to keep that up. The TCs will be devastated as their once locked-in playoff appearance has become more of a challenge over the last couple of weeks. They’ve lost their last 3 matchup & median results and have only 1 median win since Week 4. With ZYN Dynasty surging, they could be in some serious trouble.

Deadweight Destruction Works

ZYN Dynasty pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season this week by knocking off the Sad Dads. Jonnu Smith’s insane performance against the Raiders gave them a huge boost early on. Jennings’ return was a welcome one for a team who has somehow sold off all of their “good” talent but gotten better in the process. Maybe those stars were just deadweight after all. I don’t even really know what the fuck to think about all of this if I’m being honest. The Sad Dads, on the other hand, have to be fucking crushed. Their season has been flipped on its head the past two weeks as they’ve gone from a 1 seed possibility to a tie for the third. They still absolutely have an opportunity to get back in the mix for a bye but have two brutal matchups coming up against the Funkles and then top-dog NIM.

An Inch Too Short

There’s nothing worse than finishing as the 2nd highest scorer on the week and STILL losing. The game of the week absolutely delivered as projections had this one going back and forth throughout the early and mid-afternoon window. The deciding factor really came down the rookie Brock Bowers’ continued domination. Most of the other matchups ended up pretty even. Chase Brown made his best attempt to get TBB a win on SNF but was unable to get a touchdown which may have secured the result. Despite a tough loss, TBB was able to secure their 10th straight median win. NIM win the regular season series 2-0 and have further cemented themselves in the 1 seed position.

Week 12 Preview & Picks

vs.

TVB do not go down easy and are beneficiaries of a slew of soft matchups. That being said, it’s highly unlikely they’ll be able to pull this one off. TBB get the job down.

vs.

The Early-Season darlings DESPERATELY need a win to get back on track. CTB are extremely thin at RB and are likely going to struggle mightily in this one. TCs get back to winning ways.

vs.

This has turned into an unspoken rivalry and could get ugly. TPSK isn’t even setting their fucking lineups and just have a gross roster. Spicy Boys keep the playoff push and hopes alive.

vs.

I should move this game back probably. No Allen or Chase for ZYN Dynasty. They’re absolutely fucked. NIM bloodbath.

GAME OF THE WEEK

vs.

This is fucking wild. Both teams are absolutely CRUSHED by the bye week. The Funkles have no QB and must be hoping that Mike Evans can return so they can fill out their lineup. The Sad Dads are missed 3 big-time pass catching threats and their RB2 on the year. Anything is possible but the Sad Dads are really fucked and may slip into the 4th spot after this. Funkles win.
