The Weekly Report – Week 6

The stats say otherwise but I thought this was a fantastic week for the Super League. Sure, there were some blowouts BUT there were also two extremely tight matchups. Statistically, it was the lowest scoring week of the season so far. Points are down BIG time this year but that was expected with the scoring changes we approved in the offseason. Some big trades happened yesterday (in real life) which could play a crucial role in how this season plays out. The playoff pack has clearly separated themselves from the rest of the league so things should continue to get interesting.

TBB continues to pick up steam despite losing an elite receiver each week, playing without their RB1 and having a makeshift RB room. Over the last three weeks, no one has put up more points and they once again delivered this week. If it was not for DJ Moore, TBB would have not had a single player under double digit points. It was a very well-rounded performance spearheaded by newly acquired Chris Godwin. The fill-in RBs of Chase Brown and Alexander Mattison continue to get touchdowns, giving them more value than originally expected. ZYN Dynasty, on the other hand, had an absolutely brutal week. Which truthfully, I don’t think they’re even remotely upset about. They are all-in on the tank and never even had a chance to pull of this upset. Writing about them (and the other tanking teams) is going to get really fucking boring.

Broken Cigs Just Get By

The TCs got back to winning ways this week but missed out on a median win. This now brings their median record to 3-3 which is not too impressive. They have the ability to break out on any given week but are going to have these bumps in the road more often than not. Up against a tanking TPSK, the TCs will be furious to have only won by 3 pts. Marvin Harrison’s odd start to life in the NFL has not been helpful as well as Malik Nabers’ injury woes. Overall, they are still one for the future but their hot start in the beginning of the year may have set expectations just a bit too high. Thank fuck they drafted Jayden Daniels… TPSK on the other hand have to be buzzing about Zay Flowers. He’s truly the only player that I would gloat about at the moment. He is clearly Lamar’s favorite target, and he once again exploded this week without even getting a touchdown. Good times ahead… maybe?

Watching a team like TVB collapse to what they are now has been quite a sight to behold. Going into the year, they were expected to once again compete for a title. However, things have NOT gone their way. The injury bug, bad trades, early QB picks, it’s been a rough go for the defending regular season champions. After shipping off their prized possession last week, it was expected that they would struggle for the rest of the season. And struggle they did. A silver lining – Caleb Williams is starting to look good. Enough about that dog shit team, let’s talk about the Sad Dads continuing their pursuit of greatness. This week saw them get some much-needed production for their WRs. They currently lead the league in RB output/average and typically they account for 43% of their points. This week the WRs carried the load and accounted for almost 50% of the team’s points. Brock Purdy’s elite TNF performance was a huge boost as well. The Sad Dads are good. Very good.

They’re 11-1. They rarely have to play against someone who’s good. They have the worst PA in the league and once again, played a team who could barely field a lineup. Who gives a fuck.

Nicely Done for Some Spicy Fun

The Spicy Boys being in the mix is fucking fun. They are BY FAR my favorite team to write about. They’re constantly caught in two minds and it’s awesome. They’ve never been the worst team in the league but I’m not sure they will ever be the best. But guess what? That’s exactly how they want it. They just want to be relevant. And I fucking love that. This week they got a massive win against a playoff team no less. Newly acquired Deebo Samuel was extremely efficient and helped give the boys a big boost following TNF. Scary Terry is clearly benefitting from Jayden Daniels’ presence and David Montgomery continues to be a fucking FORCE. The Spicy Boys are back!!! The Funkles will be upset but they were still able to snatch a median win. Jordan Mason’s injury hurt their chances of winning this won but it was a great debut for new Funkle AJ Brown.

The 2024 Zyn Cup – Round 1 Preview

The world-renowned ZYN Cup is fucking back this week. The new format brings a breath of fresh air to an already incredible competition. While these Round 1 matchups are not as juicy as we’d like, the new 2-leg semi-finals should bring some awesome excitement.

The Portuguese Short Kings vs. Choking the Belichicken (Winner Faces TVB)

The injury bug has bit CTB at a very bad time. Their matchups are also pretty brutal while TPSK has a pretty weak slate (albeit a weak team as well). TPSK should be able to get the job done.

Transgender Cigarettes vs. Spicy Boys (Winner Faces NIM)

This matchup hinges on the availability of Malik Nabers. The TCs have struggled without him and may struggle again if he is unavailable. The new-look Spicy Boys get to trot out Travis Kelce for the first time but have a lot of players with some difficult matchups. TCs advance and dethrone the champs.

Week 7 Preview & Picks

vs.

Neither team even wants to win this game but I like ZYN Dynasty’s chances. ZYN Dynasty unfortunately get the win.

vs.

Lol. NIM win who cares.

vs.

TVB have a really soft schedule this week but have not been able to get consistent performers. TCs on the other hand continue to have boom or bust weeks. I like TVB with the matchup advantage.

vs.

The Spicy Boys have arrived in style but I don’t think they are much of a match for a top-3 team in the Sad Dads. Sad Dads get the result.

GAME OF THE WEEK

vs.

Once again the Funkles are in the game of the week and with a pretty solid chance of knocking off TBB. Achane & Jordan Mason’s health could play a big factor as Swift is on a bye. TBB on the other hand are without CeeDee & DJ Moore. Funkles get back to winning ways.
